Oriental Arabesque for Oud Palao by Diptyque

The newest fragrance by French niche brand Diptyque is called Oud Palao and is -you guessed it- inspired by the mega-trend that is oud. It also incorporates perfume notes of Bulgarian rose, camphor, labdanum,  rum, tobacco, patchouli, Madagascar vanilla, and sandalwood.

But what is most memorable is the gorgeous, eye-catching illustration motif. After all Diptyque started as a quirky design brand of textiles and scents...

    1. I hope they retain some of their character now they're out of the "strictly niche" they were.

  2. I may just have to break my 'no more samples until I sample everything I already have" rule!

    1. That's a rule that's made to be broken, Carol! ;-)

  3. I hope it's a lot better than Florabellio.

  4. One of the few survivors to the oud wave capitulates. But as usual, one will have to smell. As per Phyllis, I too hope it's better than Florabellio.

  5. It's kinda odd when one waits so long, to succumb so powerfully (oud in the name, east in the story).
    We'll see....

  6. Way better than Florabelio. Very well crafted, and decidedly Middle Eastern feeling. Strong, warm, with hardly any synthetic-ness.
