Giveaway of Niche Perfume Samples
Irises (and iris-named perfumes) come plentiful in both mainstream and niche sectors lately: from best-selling Infusion d'Iris by Prada, Donna Karan Iris and Iris Nobile (A.di Parma) to Guerlain's Figue-Iris, Iris Ganache (also Guerlain), Iris Poudre (F.Malle) and Iris Silver Mist (Serge Lutens). Even The Body Shop has a white musk version in their Midnight Iris edition. And many many more….Everyone wants to have an iris in their fragrance portfolio!
So it came as no surprise that Aedes de Venustas, a niche abode known to all aficionados, came up with Iris Nazarena. The effort is rewarded with a Fragrance Foundation award (Parfum Extraordinaire) and it's my privilege to be able to give away 10 samples to 10 readerswho will put in a comment under this post until Thursday midnight. The lucky recipients will be announced on Friday 1st August, stay tuned. This is closed, thank you!

ReplyDeleteThe store is one of my favorites in NYC. It is a magic box of a place with swirling pockets of scent. Love niche brands and their highly individual scents.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful opportunity to try Aedes! Thanks for organizing this.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try Aedes De Venustas and Iris Nazarena. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really cool. Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI love Iris and it is true that Iris as main note in perfumes is a pretty new phenomenon. It has served as a supporting role for a long time, though. Many fragrances with Iris in its name are far from Iris 'soliflores' don't really use it as a focal point, though. Iris Nobile is more of a floral, Iris Poudre is a floral aldehydic and Infusion d'Iris (albeit lovely) isn't that Iris-y either.
ReplyDeleteThinking of the cost of Orris butter, I doubt there's much natural Iris in *any*:commercial fragrances. I bought a 5 ml. bottle of a 10% dilution and even that was quite an investment.
Iris Silver Mist is one of my absolute favorites! I'd love to try Iris Nazerena.
ReplyDeleteI would love so much to be able to try this one- if it smells like the color of the bottle, it may be a huge success
ReplyDeleteI adore Iris Silver Mist
thanks for the draw
This sounds interesting. My favorite iris so far is Dior Homme. Thanks for the draw.
ReplyDeleteReally have been loving iris for the past year. The more samples, the better! Thanks, Judy
ReplyDeleteAmazing...there is justice after all...
ReplyDeleteyesterday I was fondly saying good bye
to my gorgeous Hiris of Hermes bottle..
.and I wished upon a star...of an iris scent...
Hiris kept company to my dreams each night...so calm and warm, so simple yet deep....
Miss you iris...maybe a special new you?
Wish upon a star...
Just what I need! Some lovely iris to complete a fragrant summer.
ReplyDeleteAnother iris fan here. Please count me in. :) ~Judy
ReplyDeleteIt would be great to try a new iris fragrance. The only one I've been able to try and absolutely adore is Impossible Iris from Ramon Monegal. I still some drops left from the sample I got. I think a post solely on Iris fragrances will be a treat to read.
ReplyDeleteI love iris fragrances, so this would be fantastic to sample! Thanks for hosting this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteStrange to say, I don't have an Iris fragrance, so I'd really love the opportunity to try some. Thank you so much for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love iris fragrances and was just reading a review of this yesterday. Iris and incense! It would be great to be able to sample this. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI only own one Iris perfume, Iris Silver Mist. I got someone to buy it for me without testing it. I had read many reviews and felt I would really enjoy it. Now it is actually my boyfriend's favourite scent on me. I don't wear it that often though. I would love to try this different iris scent. Great draw!

Another one who has noticed that many iris fragrances do not resemble one another, they're all over, so probably not true to the flower/root, but very intrigued by Iris Nazarena. Appreciate the chance to sample this one. :)
ReplyDeletePrada's Infusion d'Iris is one of my often-wears - always beautiful without straining.
ReplyDeleteIris is one of my true perfume loves... maybe only second to spicy clove. Please consider me as one of your sample winners ;)
ReplyDeleteMy hands-down favourite floral note--probably because there's not much "floralness" going on in it. Thanks for the draw!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this olfactory education. Iris sounds very interesting. After reading, I am finding more aromas, different scents to try. Thank you for the opportunity!

Iris is one of those notes that I sometimes love, and other times do not. It is still a bit mysterious to me. Thank you for the draw!
ReplyDeleteI understand that the rare, long discontinued Molyneux 5 is one of the few -- maybe the only -- Iris oriental. Please enter me in the draw.
ReplyDeleteOoh! I've been wanting to try this one. I love AdV and iris both, so. . .thanks & cheers!
ReplyDeleteLove to try this. I enjoy Prada infusion D'Iris. I found Hermes Hiris too fleeting for my skin. Thanks for the draw!

ReplyDeleteMarsi
When I think of iris perfume my mind first goes to the vintage Iris de fete - Fleurs de jountue by Revlon. It was cheap, available and for me wonderfully authentic, even though I read it was made of synthetic ingredients.
ReplyDeleteCount me in, please.
