In the cyceon of new releases some catch our eye more than others. Especially when beloved materials find their way into the inspiration behind a new niche fragrance. Cashmere Twill, a warm and enveloping perfume, the Acqua di Biella brand inaugurates a new line of fragrances "Le Vie della Lana". "A new unparalleled range of products of the highest quality, based on the old recipes of the Reale Manifattura but also on the most advanced scientific and dermatological research that draws together the precious components of the finest wool and of the best quality, strictly vegetable primary materials. Powerfully evocative creations that are the fruit of careful olfactory research, stimulating the senses with intense and intriguing scents they invoke the fascinating fresco of Biellese life, the folk stories, the sensations and the scenes of the world of wool, all inseparably linked to the history of her family, to her roots in the Biellese region, but also to the lands which produce the greatest wools of the world, Australia, Asia and South America".
There are plans to bring out a new perfume in the line ever one or two years, for men and women to complete a line of distinction.

And all I can think to myself is the scent of wet wool and much I don't like it. And am I imagining this but didn't Michael Kors ages ago come out with something similar to this.

ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure wet wool is not what they're going after, Jen. I can understand how one would not like the smell of it.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure which Michael Kors you mean: surely not Michael (tuberose) and not Kors (the liquor one). Oh wait, I saw on Basenotes there is a whole "notes by Muchael" series of flankers. Maybe you mean those?
yeah, it was the notes series.
ReplyDeleteA ha! But still I don't see in the actual notes any mention of wool. The names though do take inspiration from fabrics! Oh well...
ReplyDeleteIn the fragrance there is the essence of wool, of Cashmere. This don't smell but hydrates and smoothes the skin thanks to the Cashmere Keratin.
ReplyDeleteThe parfum is very elegant!
So the cashmere essence is more of a theurapeutical ingredient than a fragrant one. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteIt would be even more interesting to learn about how it is incroporated in the formula and the method of extraction (like lanolin is rendered, perhaps?).
I would LOVE the smell of wet dog, lol.
ReplyDeleteDo let me know-truly- when you sniff this, what you think;
My guess is-
It'll either be gorgeous, or heinous.
I, I promise you that I will: it sounds polarising, that's true. I am holding out for the best. :-)
