To get it, join Cinquième Sens for the next Introduction to the Techniques of Perfumery and the Language of Scents, aimed at both professionals and perfume enthusiasts. The programme includes history of fragrances, an introduction to brands and the sense of smell, training on the materials (naturals and synthetics), the extraction methods and the concentrations as well as the language for describing scent.

Perfumer Palette Training Programme by Cinquieme Sens
Cinquième Sens, the Paris-based with a NYC branch perfume-training organisation, is now offering a 3-hour training called “The perfumer pallet” , a short and comprehensive olfactory training allowing you to acquire, develop, or structure your olfactory skills. The program is aimed at enthusiasts and potential employees in the field alike and includes:
- Smell test
- Olfaction and emotions
- Chinese portrait of an odour memorisation tips
- Description of the Perfumer-Creator's organ
- Introduction to natural and synthetic raw materials
- Explanation of the olfactory pyramid
There are also some extras promised such as
- A fun learning module
- A short module (3 hours), adaptable
- Increased awareness of olfaction and the profession of perfumer when hiring or promoting an employee

More Chances to Develop Your Olfactory Skills
We had previously announced workshops by Cinquième Sens, a French-based company offering tutorials for people interested in developing their olfactory skills. After a great session in September, Cinquieme Sens is back in New York City with more dates to allow beauty professionals to develop strong sensory skills and a command of the language of scents. Recommended also to anyone who wants to acquire a strong command of the Art of perfumery.

Cinquieme Sens NYC Perfume Workshop
Cinquième Sens is a company founded in Paris in 1976 taking its name from the Fifth Sense, our sense of smell. They are now offering training programmes and workshops for the appreciation of fragrance for professionals as well as fragrance lovers.
First training will be on Sept 23rd (Tuesday) /24th (Wednesday) at the Cinquième Sens Madison Avenue office, in New York City.
This introductory programme to perfumery techniques and the language of scents includes:
1)Stages of development of a perfume (raw materials vendors and perfumers, brands' marketing to packaging, legal matters concerning supplying)
2)Understanding the sense of smell (physiology, emotional responses, odour memorising principles & techniques, different types of raw materials and their classification, extraction procedures, pyramidal composition, different concentrations)
3)Language for describing scents (olfactory study, how to formulate an accord, perfume classification, study of leading perfumes)
