The snow has taken New York by storm if Instagram is any proof of that, but do not fear. Here we can bring the crocuses from under the stony frozen rock in our imagination. In an effort of some welcome diversion of spring-time thoughts, before any floral prints erupt happily on our dresses and pink suffocates our makeup routine like there's no tomorrow (not that it happens in my routine, but you know how things go in the press) there's a Fragrantica collective article with spring scents.

I bought a bottle of Houbigant Orangers en Fleurs in Moscow, springtime in a bottle!!! Somehow manages to be modern & retro at the same time, not just honeyed orange blossom but an entirely new flower spiked with nutmeg & a touch of cedar floating over a clean white musk. Swoon!!!

After new years eve I was a (ab)user of Kenzo Jungle Elephant because I needed the comfort of the heavy spicy perfume since it was soo cold, but now, it is -2C and today I sprayed on some Scherrer and suddenly spring wasn't that far away...

DeleteLilac is my favorite in spring. Love it!!! :) I'm pretty nostalgic.. lilac it remainds me of my beautiful childhood.
ReplyDeleteLOVE lilac to bits myself. The mauve varietal, not the white. It's spicier and more indolic. It IS pretty nostalgic, it's a simple enough smell but has a mix of innocence and headiness to it.

ReplyDeleteIndeed! Fancy that Chandler once said that lilacs recall ladies' panties, used. To have one's panties smell like heavenly lilacs, though, that would be something, yes? Hahaha! (He did have a point from a molecular point of view, to be honest)

DeleteFor some reason, any citrus-y fragrance reminds me of springtime. I do try to get a whiff of it every now and then when there's nothing to do during the winter.
ReplyDeleteReally? I find citrus is especially welcome in the summer, perhaps most people learned to associate it with that season. But to each their own. It's certainly uplifting!
