Misia Les Exclusifs by Chanel comprises fragrance notes of violet, May rose from Grasse, Turkish rose, orris, benzoin, tonka bean, and musks. The fragrance of Misia is composed by in-house perfumer Olivier Polge.
Chanel is after all busy in business as usual, with even news of "looking to open a new factory in the Compiègne area of France, creating several hundred jobs and perhaps 10,000 tangential jobs for suppliers in the region", according to French local newspaper, the Courrier Picard.

Lots of our factories are closing and going overseas sadly.
We shall smell. I note the absence of jasmine from Chanel-owned Grasse plantation. Made obsolete by IFRA (if not earlier ...)

Shall be interested in having a sniff, and thankfully, Chanel have opened a store with Les Exclusifs only 20mins from me, rather than the 1 1/2 hours travel previously -

ReplyDeleteas usual you hit the nail on the head. Yes, new job options is great news. I'm glad that a privately held company like Chanel continues to thrive and not capitulate to this "faux luxury" which makes things in China to cut costs and insists they're operating 100% in Europe.

ReplyDeletemmmm, I am not so sure about that Grasse jasmine. You know, it was only reserved for the extraits anyway and the IFRA minimum is very low to begin with, so I don't really see a problem with that.
It's ever so hard to get them to give a straight answer though for all the imagined reasons.
Still, I think we're dealing with a rosy-violet makeup scent for Misia (lipstick, retro face powder) and this doesn't include jasmine. So, that's my theory and I'm sticking with it. ;-P

ReplyDeleteit all depends on what you've tried. Chanel is highly regarded, but sometimes that happens due to momentum. Not everything is worthwhile (Chance Eau Tendre, Coco Mlle, masculine Allures etc. I'm looking at you!)
Misia sounds like a lighter "lipstick scent" which is a good thing since the Malle edited LR is too waxy and thick for me.
