Penhaligon's Tralala: Win an Exclusive Preview Decant of the Latest Fragrance Launch

Tralala by Penhaligon's, which we announced on these pages (where we posted the fragrance notes) a few days ago, was presented in London  the other day and yours truly managed to get her little paws on some preview juice. [Yeah!] So yes, you know what that means, one lucky winner gets free perfume that hasn't even hit the stores yet (and will actually hit them in May, so wow!)! To enter the draw, leave a comment on this post; draw is open internationally till Sunday midnight and winner will be announced on Monday.

So…Tralala by Penhaligon's and eccentric fashion duo Meadham Kirchhoff, aka the latest fragrant opus by the British niche brand. It presented two major stumbling blocks for me, when I first heart about it. Luckily I was able to sample it in real time and see whether my qualms were founded in reality or they were a figment of my imagination. I wrote a full review on the scent for Fragrantica which you can find on this link. [You're welcome to comment either  here or there on it.]

Tralala will launch exclusively at Harvey Nichols on April 21 and at Penhaligon's boutiques and at www.penhaligons.com on May 5, priced at £150.

I've spritzed a few penhaligons and liked a few too but I've not yet seriously sampled one. A sneek preview sounds lovely,

  10. I'd love to try this if only because you called it schizophrenic in Fragantica!

The notes and your review makes me curious. The name sounds so carefree to me, but I do wonder if I would find the perfume too powdery. I guess it depends on the blend, so please include me in this generous draw!

This sounds interesting, and I'd love the chance to try it. I read Last Exit to Brooklyn within the past year, but I never even thought of the character when I heard of this perfume.

  15. My Penhaligon experiences are sketchy but I'm a fan of Duchafour and an eccentric note list. Nice review and thanks for the opportunity.

  16. So funny that this is everything and the kitchen sink kind of perfume. I am curious.

I don't know the film you spoke of, so I kind of love the bottle! It's so totally de trop-and the contents are unusual. I dunno what to think. I have tried the Penhaligons sampler pack, and I have had a bottle of Love Potion number 9, which I adored.
I thank you for your review-it will give me food for thought, for sure!

The notes sound mad! I'd love to try it. Penhaligon's perfumes are so varied, I love Elixir but Bluebell is scary. I love the fact they're taking on Duchaufour for some of their creations, moving on from the Victoriana feel

From the description of the notes i could imagine a mix between the Velvet Underground and Cindy Lauper, a "Femme Fatale just wanna have fun"......something of fatale, but also strong, a little bit smoky and "alchoolic", but sweet at the end.....

  57. Woah! Such a gaudy pick of notes (and packadge at that - truelly I don't know whether I love it or hate it, and it's not a bad thing, I find it amusing at the very least :D). I'm highly intrigued about the overall effect, especially in terms of comliance with the works of Meadham - Kirchhoff, hence I'm expecting sg. eccentric, controversial, frilly but heavy-weight baroque pomp and good dose of irony? black-humour?
Please give me a chance to have a scent in my craziest moments! :D Thanks for the draw!

  67. This lines from your article on Fragrantica "which contain a bit of everything and the kitchen sink: from aldehydes to whiskey and leather to incense through vetiver, tuberose and carnation. (It actually also includes such disparate things as saffron, violet, patchouli, and vanilla.)" made me suspect that the Tralala formula is a left over from Bertrands creation of L'Artisan Explosions de Emotions trio. Probably he will sell his new almost disharmonic-cacophonic style to more then one nichehouse I'm still a bit puzzled about the Explosions trio, and it would be very intriguing to test Tralala to se if my suspicions are correct. Thank you for the draw:-)
