And Let the Seperation's Pain Sleep in the Heart

Clip from Ulysses' Gaze by Theodoros Aggelopoulos. The song is traditionally sung on New Year's Eve in Greek gatherings, while the time-play of the elapsing years in the film is a nod to post-world-war II Romanian history, in the greater Balkans cadre.

May history smile on all of us in 2011. Happy New Year!

  5. I wish you all the best for the new year and above all health and creativity. You will give "colour" in the everyday life of this difficult year. Σου εύχομαι μακροημέρευση και έμπνευση.

  6. Photographs (here, motion) and memories and the (re-)construction of history...perhaps the conclusion of 2010 held similar waves for both of us. Or perhaps it is just the nature of such transitions.

Nonetheless, you prompted me to pay more attention to this film; it is now added to my que as something to watch ("experience"?) in 2011.

Best of memories and discoveries to you in 2011, E.
