A BellaTV snippet (via PopSugar) featuring 5 picks from Scent Bar in Los Angeles (the brick & mortar store of Luckyscent). Basically a promo for Luckyscent, but oh well...it's a rather fun clip! Gotta love Zelena when she wrinkles her nose sniffing a bottle at 00:05. What bottle is that, by the way, anyone knows? Is it a Nanadebarry, Monocle Laurel or one of the Six Scents? And again when she first smells Molecule 01 (watch her expression, priceless micro-detail there) and proclaims it smelling very natural. I mean...Yeah, baby, yeah!
The five sexiest fragrances for men and women in the world according to Steven Gontarski, Scentbar expert (cute guy) are:
Lumière Noire pour Femme by Maison Francis Kurkdjian
Monyette Paris by Monyette Paris
Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules
Costes 2 by Costes
CDG Red Series Sequoia
Agree? Disagree? Have your say! Which scents rate as sexiest to you?

ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm. I love Sequoia, but I don't know if I'd put it on this list. Just goes to show how subjective something like "sexy" is. But it is an unusual fragrance and I'm happy to see it get some love. I will say, this made me want to check out Costes 2, which I haven't yet. Not a note in there I don't love.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried Costes 2. I hope I can do it (it's difficult living in Spain).
ReplyDeleteI don't think Sequoia smells sexy and I don't like Molecule 01, but I know many people who find this one irresistible.
I have't tried any of those, but Costes 2 has all my fave notes.
ReplyDeleteI think CdG Hinoki is sexy on a man (I love cedar and incense), and my husband thinks Parfums de Nicolai Maharinih is sexy on me.
I have tried Sequoia, but it didn't strike as drop-dead sexy. I'd say Zagorsk does me in quite nicely!
ReplyDeleteThe ones that have got me the Greatest Hits (if you'll pardon the expression! ;-) )
For women:
Lancôme - Vintage Magie Noire
Grès - Vintage Cabochard
Serge Lutens - Fleurs d'Oranger
Yves St Laurent - Rive Gauche (!)
The crossover - goes both ways and works equally well on both men and women:
Serge Lutens - Chêne (a heartbreaker!)
For men:
Halston - Z-14
Dior - Eau Sauvage
Guerlain - Vetiver
Dior - Homme/Homme Intense (this one, I steal when I can...)
On the right kind of man...
Serge Lutens - Encens et Lavande can be devastating!
I haven't come across to any of those. Helg do you know if any of these is available in Greece?Wish I lived in France...
ReplyDeleteMy sexiest scents are Vero Kern Onda and The Party in Manhattan. Animalic chypres and florals all the way! I don't agree with the list he posted, most of them are pretty masculine or androgynous to my nose (other than Monyette Paris of course).
ReplyDeleteInteresting choices made in the clip, though I must admit my list would have looked much different. Funny, too, that Molecule 01 is such a draw; there are so many wood-based scents that are so much more intriguing, and much sexier in any event. Anyway, I'd have included the following:
ReplyDelete* McQueen's "Kingdom": Smells like fresh sweat from the nether regions, but with a fizzy synthetic twist that Muscs Koublai Khan doesn't have. (MKK is JUST the sweaty nether regions.)
* "Gucci pour Homme": Vanilla and incense mixed with a fresh sweat from you know where ...
* "Eau d'Hermès": Classy sex.
* "Ormonde Man": Because it's just so plain classy, without any illusions to sex at all; you'd simply want to get to know a guy sophisticated enough to choose this as his signature scent. That's sexy.
Thanks for posting, Helg.
All the best,
Michael
Hmmmmm. I don't know much about the above five as sexy. My top five sexiest would be:
ReplyDeleteZino
Eau d'Hermès
L'Artisan's Al Oudh
Muscs Koublaï Khän -- I've never, er, nuzzled any sweaty nether regions that smell like this, though!
Encre Noire
For more feminines, I can think of:
Un Lys
Heure Exquise
Amaranthine
Looking over what I own, I really don't have a lot I would call sexy. sad to say. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!?!?!?
Granted, all depends on the wearer as to whether anything is actually sexy.
Hmm, I have only tried Molecule 01 and Monyette out of that list, neither of which I personally would include in a top five. I agree that this is such a subjective matter, but my suggestions for women might be something like:
ReplyDeleteParfumerie Generale L'Ombre Fauve
Ormonde Jayne Taif
Damien Bash Lucifer No 3
Penhaligon's Amaranthine
Tom Ford White Suede
Sonia Rykiel For Women Not For Men!
Oops, that is six...!
Oh how odd! It's all subjective, though, isn't it. I've tried all the scents Gontarski mentions and couldn't quite agree with any. Lumiere Noir is burning rubber on me, but not in the lovely, smoldering way Bulgari Black is on me. Monyette is great fun but far from sexy. Can't smell Molecule 01 at all. Costes 2 is wonderfully light and springy but not sexy at all. Sequoia is bland on me. So there it is!
ReplyDeleteWhat would I choose??
Piguet's Baghari
Luten's Louve
Penhaligon's Amaranthine
Luten's Cedre (on DH!)
Natori (for quiet sexiness)
lovethescents
On boys I like CDG Avignon and Kyoto. Also rather embarassingly the black Armani!
ReplyDeleteWhen I want to feel sexy a very small squirt of Boudoir will do the trick- a tiny ammount though or you give entireley a different impression. People do love musc ravageur too- I like it but I don't really get the wild love but I have found it to be so...
