I loved it, but I'm not sure I could actually wear it. I love some of the fragrances you've mentioned, and there are others there I'd like to try now. (I do the opposite, probably like you do). Love the spiciness of the blossoms, in fact I love all spicy blossoms (wisteria, purple lilacs, stocks etc)Perfumeshrinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06222733129203280662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792393342962796253.post-41823044192635179492013-04-12T11:05:58.295+01:002013-04-12T11:05:58.295+01:00S,

You have a winner. :-)

Most of those 20s-30s scents have specific themes around them: the carnation-clove bouquet, the fruity chypre compote, the floral aldehydic in the mold of No.5...those were the trends then. Then I found a vintage nuit de noel, and even there a clovey carnation was loud and clear. (Not to mention vintage Bellodgia).

But I agree with you on the JARs. For a strong carnation, right now one will indeed have to go there.

caciocaciohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17902017914305322799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792393342962796253.post-58531913231630477032013-04-12T02:58:23.209+01:002013-04-12T02:58:23.209+01:00Thank you for all this information.

The destruction of the rose into a scentless simulacrum is the best known of these. Nobody gets an allergy, but nobody gets the poetry.

Miss Heliotropenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792393342962796253.post-37540446151944256762013-04-12T00:33:51.090+01:002013-04-12T00:33:51.090+01:00I love the smell of carnation. The scent is remarkable, but then again I am a person who loves spices like ginger, cardamom, cloves, etc. It's too bad that many people think of the carnation as second rate, or the cheap high school boutonnière. I can't find much on it but it is very clove at the top and orange blossom and buttery once the clove calms. It is very vintage and I really like it. My husband told me it was one his favorites of my vintage perfumes, haha, and I have quite a lot of them! stelmadesignshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07909207146304448538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792393342962796253.post-4322329079942073512013-04-11T17:13:46.121+01:002013-04-11T17:13:46.121+01:00I have difficult with carnations in general but I ...I have difficult with carnations in general but I have found one that is just great: Oeillet Louis XV from Oriza L.Legrand.
